Day 18: Kimberly, ID - Ogden, UT

Day 18: Kimberly, ID - Ogden/Eden, UT

Wednesday, November 4th - Time to say goodbye to Carol... which is always sad... a few more tears and lots of hugs... and we were on our way to Utah to continue the "Maye Baggs 2009 North American Tour". The tough part about going to Ogden is that there are so many friends that we would like to see and visit... and this trip is really all about Maye. So we're sorry Leanne, Debbie & Bruce, Gina, Kim, DeDe, Brent, etc.. just not enough time. We hope to see you during ski season!!!

It's an easy drive of only 190 miles to Ogden, Utah along I-84 with the exception of one elevation climb in the southeast corner of the Sawtooth National Forest. We stayed at Chateau Burke in Eden at the home of our friends Tom & Eileen Burke who also have a vacation home near us in Marathon. Good thing we knew how to break into the house... Tom and Eileen are in the Keys until December. Tom arrived Florida just a few days before we left on our trip.

My brother James and his wife, Colleen live about 30 minutes south in Fruit Heights and we drove down to their place for dinner. We were also joined by their daughter, my niece Therese and her husband Drew and their three children... Kyra is 17, Hayden is 13 and Violete is almost 2. We enjoyed nice wine, a salmon dinner and the evening was topped off with a serenade by Kyra on the violin. She is being pursued by the Utah Symphony... what talent!

Made it back to Chateau Burke and settled in to the big log beds and under the fluffy down comforters.
