Days 16 & 17: Kimberly/Twin Falls, ID

Days 16 and 17: Kimberly and Twin Falls, Idaho

Monday, November 2nd - Riley, Brigit & Indie were excited to wake up and play... and play... and play... most of the day. Mom, Carol and I headed in to Twin Falls for a little shopping and to pick up an external hard drive to back up my drive that crashed. Drew spent the day working on little projects on the motorhome, ie. fixing the awning and slide, mounted the flag pole and Salt Life stickers (finally got them on Mary), filled the propane, and washed 4,000 miles of dirt and bugs off the KeyZRV. We also got a rock chip somewhere in Montana, so Drew had a windshield repair tech come to Carols to fix it.

My sister Carol has a nice little ranch in Kimberly where she has a Quarterhorse named Sunshine, a Fiord named Krystal, two cats (Zipper and Punkin) and of course her new 5 month old Aussie Doodle, Indie. I was also excited to see the bathroom and kitchen remodel projects that I only saw pictures of on the internet. Her property is surrounded by fields of sugar beet, onion, and bean crops and nice horse, cattle & sheep properties.

Tuesday, November 3rd - Today we are going to take in the sites of Twin Falls which include the Twin Falls that the city is named after and another waterfall called Shoshone Falls. These are all falls on the Snake River. They were very pretty and sounded awesome. We also stopped by Durkees Lake that is fed from an underground spring. The day was beautiful with temperatures in the high 60's. Our next stop was to see the Perrine Bridge that crosses the Snake River Gorge. The bridge is 1400 ft. long and 500 ft. from the Canyon floor and it was named after the wealthy Mr. Perrine who funded the bridge project. We were also fortunate enough and definitely surprised to notice two base jumpers that were getting ready to jump off the Perrine Bridge... one girl and one boy from California. We waited about 15 minutes while they walked out to the middle of the bridge to JUMP! The Perrine Bridge is the only man-made structure in the United States where "Base Jumping" is allowed without a permit. It's just scarey looking over the bridge, let alone, jumping off.

We then drove by the house that Mom grew up in the late 20's and early 30's and where Uncle Don Lee was born. The house was still there and in pretty good shape... looked like a family with young children lived there now.

Good News: my new hard drive arrived via FedEx... boy, so many days of blogging to catch up on.

We had a very nice and relaxing visit with Carol. And we have to note that this was the first time since Riley's surgery in June that he got to actually run around and play like a DOG. He was covered in leaves and dirt for two days. He was so happy and Indie was so happy to have a buddy to play with. She misses him!

  1. Indie is adorable. I love these pictures! (If you need more Salt Life stickers, they sell them at the Sandal Factory in Marathon.)
